The race is organised by Newark AC and Newark Rugby Club and attracts over 1,000 or so runners. The course is generally a flat one, although there is one hill of note which crops up after 9 miles. The organisers say that the uncrowded field means that many runners have recorded PBs at the race, as the first mile is less crowded than at some of the UK’s bigger marathons.
